Lunic "One of the most intriguing new bands on the horizon, Lunic sounds like the future, the past and the present, all at the same time." - David Malachowksi, Daily Freeman NY "Majestic and damn compelling! ‘Lovethief’ by Lunic is brilliant right from the first play…clever and quite magnificent!" - Toxic Pete (UK)
If you added violins and viola to the sounds of SHIRLEY MANSION of GARBAGE, you’d get something similar to Lunic. Or maybe if you ruffled the feathers of RA RA RIOT and gave them a grungier sound you’d get something close to Lunic. However you try to compare them, these are densely layered, brooding tracks with a strong female voice and beautiful strings as their hallmark. Their elegant yet honest approach to their music has built them a loyal, far reaching fan base. It’s certainly a force propelling many bands these days, so be sure to give them a good listen. Lovethief was funded entirely by Lunic fans worldwide via Sellaband.com. Fans invested as little as $10 or as much as they wanted. All investors receive a free, limited edition copy of the album once it’s complete and the artists and fans share equally in the revenues of the album. Lunic fans contributed an unbelievable $50,000 toward their latest project. As the ultimate testament to the relationship of fan and artist, Lunic was able to record, mix, master, and promote Lovethief entirely through fan funding. Lunic was formed by Kaitee Page in May 2006. The primary songwriter of the band, Page can be heard on vocals, violin, viola and keys (in fact Page used to play viola with MARIAH CAREY and PORCELAIN) She is joined by Micah Berggren on guitar and backing vocals, Marcus Moran on bass, and Kevin Seaman on drums. Lovethief was produced by Peter Denenberg (Spin Doctors, Deep Purple) and mastered at Sterling Sound by Ted Jensen (Paramore, Muse). |
