Squamous Eddie "Which Decade Is it Anyway?"

Squamous Eddie is one of two things depending on how you want to look at it. It is either a type of skin cell, or the name of a band that is lead by oncologist Dr. Christopher Conti. Christopher is not your typical New York skin doctor, but a passionate artist and musician who happened to fall into medicine. Chris has been playing music since the age of five when he used to listen to both his uncle and grandfather play. By age eight he was composing his own music, and had taught himself the guitar by age thirteen. Now Chris teams up with some of his best friends to record his music.

Squamous Eddie is made up of those friends and musicians include but are not limited to: Randy Crafton, Walter Parks (vocals, guitars), Danya Kurtz (Vocals), Randy Crafton (Drums and percussion), Rene Cologne (Vocals and Orchestral arrangements), and Sean Harkness (Guitars). Randy is Chris’ childhood friend and fellow music enthusiast who now owns Kaleidoscope Studios where the band’s music is recorded. As a drummer/percussionist, Randy has over 100 recording credits to his name, toured extensively through North America and Europe , performed on Broadway, and premiered over 40 works by composers such as John Cage and George Crumb. Crafton has also taught at the Juilliard School, Drummers Collective, and the Berklee College of Music. Walter Parks is also Richie Havens’ guitarist and fronts Swamp Cabbage. Walter provides vocals and southern guitar to the more bluesy tracks and also acted as photographer and graphic designer of the CD cover and art. Dayna Kurtz is an incredible singer/ songwriter who contributes sultry blusey vocals and the occasional slide guitar. Cologne has toured regionally both solo and with her band (Big Panty), performing locally at many hip New York venues, including Mercury Lounge, CB's Gallery and the Living Room to name a few. She has been featured on the soundtrack and in the movie, To Gillian on her 37th Birthday, starring Michelle Pfieffer and Peter Gallagher.

Squamous Eddie’s newest album, Which Decade is it Anyway? is an eclectic musical journey back in time through, yup, you guessed it, the different decades starting in the ‘60s and ending with the ‘90s garage band sound. If you listen to the album from beginning to end, the styles morph through the decades and create a wonderful sense of nostalgia.
